The year 2022 was an eventful one for us.
It started when it was revealed that Sjóvá had the highest customer satisfaction rating among insurance companies in the Icelandic Customer Satisfaction Index for the fifth year in a row.
The biggest undertaking of the year was the repayment of mandatory vehicle insurance premiums to our customers in May. The decision to repay the premiums came as a result of how good a year 2021 was for Sjóvá. We simply felt it was fair to share some of the success with our customers. When completed, we repaid more than 600 million ISK to our customers.
When that amount is taken together with the repayments our claim-free customers in Stofn receive the total amount of repayments is close to 1.4 billion ISK for the year in total.
The first of the new rescue ships the Icelandic association for search, rescue & injury prevention received arrived to Vestmannaeyjar this year. The ships, bought in part with a grant of 143 million from Sjóvá, will allow for much faster rescue times in the ocean around Iceland. The next ship will arrive in Siglufjörður early next year.
We are also proud of the Environmental Award we recieved this year for our little window-stickers. We will continue to refine our products and services with the environment in mind, for the good of our customers.
