Sjóvá offers Pregnancy Insurance for the first time in Iceland

Women can now insure themselves during pregnancy, for the first time in Iceland. Today, on Women's Rights Day, June 19, Sjóvá introduces insurance coverage specifically designed for pregnant women.

Sjóvá's Pregnancy Insurance is intended to provide peace of mind and financial support to expectant parents if anything unexpected occurs. It covers both the expectant mother and unborn children during pregnancy and childbirth, and also insures the child until it reaches one month of age. The Pregnancy Insurance thus covers a period not included in other insurance types.

This is the first time in Iceland that it is possible to insure both mother and child during this precious time, and the insurance is based on a Nordic model.
