Sjóvá and the Icelandic Center for Child Injury Prevention invite parents of children aged 0–3 and other interested family members to a free safety course at the Icelandic Center for Child Injury Prevention. The course “Safety of Young Children at Home” focuses on how to ensure the safety of children in homes and cars.
The course is taught in Icelandic.
The instructor is Herdís L. Storgaard, a nurse and the director of the Icelandic Center for Child Injury Prevention.
The courses will be held on the following dates:
• Wednesday, September 10, from 17:30–19:00
• Thursday, September 25, from 17:30–19:00

An online version of the course will also be offered for those outside the capital area and will be announced soon.
The course is 90 minutes long and takes place at the Icelandic Center for Child Injury Prevention, Hátún 12, 105 Reykjavík (west entrance). See map.
Participants are guided through a fully equipped apartment where the instructor demonstrates how to make the home as safe as possible. Key safety aspects for cars will also be covered, including how to use child car seats and advice on choosing car seats and safety products.
Participants will receive a gift package from Sjóvá with home safety products and a gift for their child.
Please note that children cannot attend the course.
