Elísabet Ósk Guðlaugsdóttir has been appointed branch manager of Sjóvá in Selfoss and began her role in November. Elísabet holds a master’s degree in leadership and management and most recently worked as a project and marketing manager at Sigtún Development Company, which has been responsible for development in downtown Selfoss.
In a recent interview published in Dagskráin in South Iceland, Elísabet Ósk describes her new role as both exciting and challenging. She states that there are plans to strengthen Sjóvá's services and ties to the community throughout South Iceland.
“I was born and raised in Selfoss and have a strong connection to the entire region, in addition to knowing the community well. Sjóvá currently operates two branches in South Iceland, one in Selfoss and the other in Vestmannaeyjar, but the area stretches from Þorlákshöfn almost all the way to Höfn in Hornafjörður, where a new branch recently opened. The region is vast and diverse, and the opportunities are endless. I envision improving our services by being visible, getting to know our customers, listening to their needs, and building trust and personal relationships. My goal is for Sjóvá to be the first choice for customers in South Iceland when it comes to insurance. Sjóvá has been proactive in launching so-called pop-up branches, where staff set up in a suitable location where no branch currently operates, and invite people to get to know the company and its services. This approach has been successful, and the plan is to continue it in the region.”
