Steinunn Guðjónsdóttir Hansen and Þórir Óskarsson
Changes have been made to the organizational structure of Sjóvá, and Steinunn Guðjónsdóttir Hansen has assumed the role of Managing Director of Sjóvá-Almennar Líftryggingar. Previously, matters concerning Sjóvá-Almennar Líftryggingar fell under Hermann Björnsson, CEO of Sjóvá, who also served as Managing Director of the life insurance company. Þórir Óskarsson is taking over the actuarial field of Sjóvá and Sjóvá Líf from Steinunn.
Steinunn has been with Sjóvá since 1999. From 2016 until the end of February 2025, she was responsible for the actuarial field of the companies and served as Head of Risk Management from 2011 to 2015. Before that, she worked as an actuary in the economics department and as an actuary for Sjóvá Líf. Steinunn holds an M.Sc. in Actuarial Science from the University of Amsterdam and an M.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Groningen.
Þórir Óskarsson holds a Cand.Act. in Actuarial Science from the University of Copenhagen and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Iceland. Þórir has been with Sjóvá since December 2020. Prior to that, he worked at VÍS hf. for 11 years as Head of Risk Management and later Head of the Actuarial Department. Before that, Þórir worked as an actuary at Købstædernes Forsikring in Denmark for 3 years.
