Sjóvá only accepts invoices electronically as XML messages via middleware. Sending invoices electronically is cheaper, invoice processing is faster and more secure, and electronic invoices are an environmentally friendly option that supports sustainability. You can either send us an invoice through our electronic portal or electronically via your invoicing system.

Submission of Electronic Invoices to Sjóvá

Many systems support electronic invoicing, and this needs to be set up. When registering an invoice through the portal, do not send the invoice simultaneously on paper or via email. The original invoice must be uploaded as an attachment in the registration form. Click the button below to send an invoice to Sjóvá electronically via middleware.

What must be included in an electronic invoice?

In addition to mandatory details, the invoice must also include the following:

1. Claim Number

The claim number is a unique six-digit number provided by Sjóvá. The claim number must be entered in the <cbc:BuyerReference> field.

For those who have not updated to TS-236, the claim number may be entered in <cbc:AccountingCost>.

2. Claimant

Booking information that can facilitate the processing of the invoice should be entered in the <cac:AdditionalDocumentReference> field in the invoice header.

Use the following codes to specify the type of subject:

Only one subject should be included per invoice, depending on the type of claimant. For example, an auto repair shop would only use the ABZ code for the vehicle’s license number.

3. Delivered to Sjóvá

Invoices related to property and vehicle claims must always be addressed to the owner of the damaged item. For example, in vehicle claims, the invoice should be addressed to the vehicle’s owner, not to Sjóvá. To ensure the invoice is delivered to Sjóvá, Sjóvá’s ID number must be entered in the <cbc:EndpointID> field.

4. PDF Attachment

It is necessary to include a PDF version of the invoice as an attachment to the XML message. During the implementation phase, it may be essential to review the PDF version of the invoice since it often contains more detailed information than the electronic invoice.
