You have received an email from us confirming that the damage to your vehicle will be covered under the Comprehensive Collision Insurance.
Here are the next steps and answers to common questions. We kindly ask you to review the following information carefully.
It is important that Sjóvá has approved the repair estimate for the vehicle before it undergoes repairs to ensure that Sjóvá will cover the repair costs.
If the vehicle was transported from the scene because it was non-drivable, a Sjóvá claims assessor will inspect the vehicle at the earliest opportunity and contact you regarding the next steps. If you have not heard from us within two business days, please contact the vehicle claims department at 440-2060.
When the repair is completed, you will receive an invoice from us for your deductible. If your premiums are on an installment plan, the deductible will be divided accordingly, and no further action is required on your part.
If you wish to pay the deductible in another way, please send an email to innheimta@sjova.is or call 440-2277.
Please note that if the damage to the vehicle is severe enough that Sjóvá purchases the vehicle, the remaining premium for the comprehensive collision insurance must be settled, as the insurance is being utilized in full. The remaining premium amount will be deducted from the purchase price of the vehicle, which may result in a lower payout to your bank account than the agreed purchase price.
There is no entitlement to loss of use or a rental car under this claim.
