Initial Response to Damage

It is important to try to limit further damage as much as possible, for example by attempting to stop a water leak by turning off the water supply. However, always prioritize your own safety.

You can contact the Sjóvá Damage Hotline outside office hours at 4402424. In case of an emergency where immediate action is needed, call 112.

Report the Damage

We advise you to report the damage as soon as possible – Report property damage.

You can look up the housing association by its ID number or address.

How do I find the housing association’s ID number?

Individuals should be able to obtain the ID number from the housing association’s board.

If you do not know the ID number, it is also possible to look up the housing association by address during the reporting process.

What are the next steps?

Once the damage has been reported, the case will be processed by the claims department and we will send you an email outlining the next steps.

If it is necessary to assess the situation on-site, we will contact you, schedule a damage inspection, and then either come to the location or call you via video using Innsýn Sjóvá.

If immediate action is required, contact us at 440 2000 and we will assist you.
